Mr Lim role-models positive AI use in his History lessons by highlighting to his students the limitations of Large Language Models (LLMs) and has them assess response quality by cross-referencing the AI outputs with what they’ve learnt in class. This trains their evaluation skills and sharpens their historical understanding.

AI say! These primary school students are trading snack time for prompt engineering
At Temasek Primary, under the guidance of their teachers, students are taught how to write prompts to generate highly detailed images using AI image generator Stable Diffusion for an e-book on sustainability. Students also learn to improve their problem-solving skills when they evaluate the effectiveness of their prompts and make adjustments as needed.

Schools transform their spaces and learning experience with grant support and AI
Mr Victor Chew, Head of the Information and Communications Technology department at Rosyth School, said that with the Adaptive Learning System, there was differentiation provided, which complemented self-directed learning. This enabled teachers to have a better understanding of their pupils’ mastery of concepts, and to adjust their lesson plans to target pupils’ learning needs more effectively.

MOE to deploy more AI in schools after success of Pri 5 maths tool
Mrs Finella Goh, principal of Lakeside Primary School, said: “What we really like about the use of AI is that it allows the students to move at a pace they are comfortable with.” The Adaptive Learning System allows teachers to “meet students where they are” and adjust the pace of their lessons to suit them, she added.

MOE prepares students for fast-changing world through tech, updating learning spaces
At its annual Schools Work Plan Seminar, MOE announced measures to enhance 21st Century Competencies, harness technology to enhance learning experiences, and enrich learning environments through partnerships. Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing also launched the "Transforming Education through Technology" Masterplan 2030, with aims to enhance digital literacy and technological skills with resources on Singapore Student Learning Space as well as more AI features to better customise students’ learning experiences.

Normal (Technical) students can use laptops for one section in basic mother tongue language exams
From 2024, national exams for Normal (Technical) students will be conducted using laptops for one section of the basic mother tongue language exams. In curriculum, students can also ... access learning resources like audio and electronic texts, teaching animation and videos, as well as interactive resources on the Student Learning Space (SLS). Students can use SLS features such as text-to-speech and the e-dictionary to learn independently at their own time and pace.
