(A2) Game Stories and Collectibles
Add a Game Story
Game stories can be used to drive the narrative of a story and character development as the Module progresses.
On the Gamification subpage, select the Game Story tab:
- You may view Game Stories with or without conditions by clicking the Condition dropdown list.
- To create a game story, click Add Game Story. You will need to enter the following details:
- Game Story Audio (NEW) - Teacher can choose to add audio to all game stories. To add game story audio, click the toggle for Loop Audio. You may use the default audio or upload your own custom audio.
- Title - The game story title will be pre-filled for you as “Untitled Game Story”. Change the Title to one that is concise and unique to help you identify the game story.
- Description - The description allows you to describe the story, up to a character limit of 2000 characters. You can upload a Audio/Video file in the description field.
- Image - This image will be visible as a prompt for the student when they fulfill the required conditions for the Game Story. If left empty, a default Game Story icon will be populated for you. You can hide image when it is awarded.
Note: Images for game story prompts will be uploaded with 16:9 aspect ratio.
- Game Branches (Optional) - Select Game Choices or Short Response Text and click Add Branch.
- Game Choice - Enter an option in each branch. To add more branches, click Add Branch. Each branch is an option for students to select when they are awarded the Game Story.
- Short Response Text - Enter all acceptable answers in Branch A. All other responses provided by students when they are awarded the game story will direct them to Branch (All Other Response).
- Click Create to proceed.
- After creating a game story, you may click Add Conditions to determine when the game story will appear during the module. All game stories are hidden by default until they are awarded to the students.
- To add, reorder, or delete a game story, click the Overflow (3-dot icon) on the Game Story card and select the respective options.
Add a Collectible
On the Gamification subpage, select the Collectibles tab:

You will find three types of Collectibles:
- Achievement - Achievements awarded to students will be displayed on the leaderboard.
- Avatar - Avatar awarded to students can be used to replace their SLS Avatar within the Module.
- Digital Badges - Digital badges are special badges awarded to one’s profile for completing self-study modules from MOE Library. Students and teachers may view their digital badges on their profile page.

You may view collectibles with or without conditions by clicking the Condition dropdown list.

To create a collectible, click Add Collectible. You will need to enter the following details:

Collectible Type - The two collectible types are Achievement and Avatar. Choose one that best suits your need.

Title - The achievement title will be pre-filled for you as “Untitled Achievement”. Change the title to one that is concise and unique to help you identify the achievement.

Description - The description allows you to describe the achievement and write congratulatory messages, up to a character limit of 2000 characters.

Icon - This icon will be visible as a prompt for the student when they achieve the required conditions for this achievement and as an icon for this achievement on the Leaderboard. If left empty, a default achievement icon will be populated for you.

Collectible Settings:
- Hide Award prompt - Select the checkbox if you want the Award prompt to be hidden from students when the collectible is being awarded to them.
Note: This can be useful for preventing multiple Award prompts to appear at the same time.
- Hide Collectible - Select the checkbox if you want the collectible to be hidden from students until it is awarded to them. When unchecked, the collectible will be shown to students. Students will not own the collectible until they have fulfilled the conditions.
- Hide Award prompt - Select the checkbox if you want the Award prompt to be hidden from students when the collectible is being awarded to them.

Game Branches (Optional) - Select Game Choices or Short Response Text and click Add Branch.
- Game Choice - Enter an option in each branch. To add more branches, click Add Branch. Each branch is an option for students to select when they are awarded the Game Story.
- Short Response Text - Enter all acceptable answers in Branch A. All other responses provided by students when they are awarded the Game Story will direct them to Branch (All Other Response).

Click Create to proceed.

After creating a Collectible, you may click Add Conditions to determine when the Collectible will appear during the module.

Edit Game Story or Achievement
- In the Gamification subpage, click Game Story/Achievement.
- Click Edit under the Game Story/Achievement card. You will be able to edit the Title, Description and Image.
- Click Save to confirm your changes.
Delete Game Story or Collectible
- Click the Overflow (3-dot icon) on the Game Story/Achievement card and select Delete.
- Click OK to confirm.
Video Tutorial
